Typically types of Chemical packing
There are many types of chemical packing, but it can be summarized into the following four categories:
The particulate chemical packing: it is very early emergence of chemical packing material with inorganic ceramic or quartz sand. Its greatest benefit is rough surface, micro convenient attachment and the suspended solids retention ability strongly, but the resistance is relatively large, easy to plug is the biggest disadvantage.
Honeycomb or corrugated plate chemical packing: it is usually made of fiberglass or plastic (polyethylene, polystyrene and polypropylene, etc.) and other materials. It has the advantage of light weight, high porosity, high strength, and good corrosion resistance and so on; drawback is balanced microbial growth and shedding good control is difficult to obtain a uniform flow rate.
The spherical light ceramic: it is generally made of ceramic clay as its raw material; add appropriate chemicals as a bulking agent, high temperature baked. Compared with conventional chemical packing, its advantages are: high strength, high porosity, large surface area, proper density, good chemical stability, strong biological adhesion; disadvantages are: high energy consumption, high preparation cost. In our country now, together with combinations BAF process in sewage treatment, printing and dyeing wastewater treatment, wastewater treatment beer has large number of applications, in the years of practice, has made an outstanding role.
Irregular porous filler: previous chemical packing Raschig rings, Pall rings etc.; Now polyhedral hollow ball (Hacketten) and multi-faceted light ball, etc. Production of materials: ceramics, graphite, plastics and metals. Its main advantage: simple structure and cheap price; however, shortcomings is the uneven distribution of the fluid.
